Time 2 Party

Hannah's birthday was today and we through her a little party. The guests made favors of Halloween Houses and stick puppets and then we sang Happy Birthday, ate a light snack of roll sandwiches, chips, cheese, and crackers, and had cupcakes. I made a little cake for Hannah to blow a candle out of but she ate a cupcake at the party just like everyone else. Everything went really smoothly and I was so glad that so many of my friends could come and bring their beautiful children and that my sister would deign to drive 8.5 hours for the occasion. Hannah is truly loved.  Here is Hannah at almost the exact minute of her birthday.  Here are her cousins, dressed to save the world.  And of course, their super mama.  This boy liked the witch hat garland.  Cody held down the fort with the new baby during the shindig.  This boy was worried his mama was gonna leave him at a new place. When she stayed, he was fine.  These kids made cut...

Bed Update

Hannah is taking to her toddler bed just fine. She does still play at nap time, but now when she is tired she can go to sleep on a bed instead of on a beanbag chair because she can't get back in her crib. But yes, she still prefers to drink from a bottle.

Coloring

Hannah likes to color. She actually calls what she is doing "writing." She is learning to color on a paper rather than a table, a window, or a floor. This morning she did an especially good job with her jumbo Hello Kitty coloring book I found for a dollar at a store here in Lawrence. She said "momma take a picture." She has also stopped eating the crayons, which is encouraging.

New Bed

I ordered Hannah a toddler bed to replace her crib. It came yesterday. I built it tonight.  I am so excited for her to have it. Hannah helped by whacking me in the head with the slats, hiding the screws, and playing with the styrofoam. Brian drilled a missing hole and tightened it when I was done. It was a real family project.

The End of the Crib

Hannah learned how to crawl out of her crib.  This isn't such a problem at night because it is dark. And so she does not want to get out of bed.  But nap time during the day is a different story. She crawls out of her crib, plays with her toys,  and goes to sleep on the bean bag.  But at least she wakes up happy.

Hannah in Pajamas

My friend Stefinee came to visit and she brought Hannah these cute pajamas. When I zipped them up, Hannah exclaimed "I'm gorgeous!" She is right.
