Quick Successions: New Mexico Edition

We woke up on Saturday September 3, 2016 to an earthquake. I was startled but not panicked. It passed quickly and nothing was damaged. We had already planned to go to Wichita that day for a bike ride on the Arkansas River Trail. We packed the car and set off.  The trail is about 10 miles with lots of loops through parks. We stopped at one and played. The trail is also lined with interesting places to sit. One of them was a giant Adirondack chair. Hannah likes the bike trailer. She falls asleep and uses her iPad. She was a little nervous about the big slide, but did manage to go down this smaller one. Here I am by the river after the ride. While we were down there, we went to the Museum of World Treasures. My 36th birthday was on August 29. Since it was a Monday and a workday, I went to work. When I arrived, I was the only one there. Being alone set up good conditions for productivity and so I was able to get everything that I needed to do, done quickly and I went home. Here is my birthday greeting from Google. I love seeing it every year, but I am pretty sure they do it for everyone. Here is the birthday photo my Hannah sent me. I liked how she put a border on it. Here are the cupcakes we made together. She was in charge of decorating. I actually thinks she did okay for a four year old. Here I am on my way to work Monday morning. Not sure why I took it, other than to just see what I looked like on my birthday. I was able to go to lunch after I finished my work. Then we went to a movie over toward Kansas City. Since we have been out in Kansas, I have looked for something to do at the end of the summer. This year, we started out the summer season with a Cardinals game because I had a conference. I decided we should book end with another, so a couple of weeks after I returned from Europe and Hannah got back from Pennsylvania with her cousins, off we went.  Sitting at the game. The field. I like the view with the cityscape and the arch.  Waiting for the vehicle to come around the next day. Hannah's dg BINGO is a delightful valet.  I always wanted to go to the Saint Louis Science Center, but there is never time. We made some. Hannah dug for dinosaur bones (above) and played with other learning exhibits. I am not so sure she learned a lot of hard science at this point, but her curiosity was piqued and she had a good time.  So that was supposed to be our final summer fling. It was a good one.
