Last Saturday we went to Olive Garden (my friend had sent us a gift card) to celebrate my comprehensive exams. Hannah ordered a pepperoni pizza and she really liked the breadsticks.

On Monday I read stories to Hannah before going to work (as is typical). Then I came home and ate lunch with Brian and Hannah. I came home early and took Hannah to the craft store to let her pick out some projects and then we stopped to get an ice cream cone on the way home.
On Tuesday we went to the Lawrence St. Patrick's Day Parade after lunch. I wasn't sure how long Hannah would last, but she made it a good 40 minutes before she was asking to go. It was hard for her because she wanted to get down and run around and told her she had to be holding my hand or in my arms. There was just too many people and I didn't want to lose her and have to go around looking.
After the parade. You can see Hannah's green tutu here. She really liked wearing it. I bought it in April last year on clearance and crossed my fingers that it would still fit. It did. Good use of 5 dollars, I think. It was 50 degrees and windy; so we weren't freezing, but we did wear coats.
On Wednesday it was rainy and windy and cold. I went to work at 10 and stayed until 4. Brian made hamburgers for dinner. We were going to BBQ them but we had to settle for the indoor grill.
On Thursday it was still rainy and cold, but not as windy. I went to work at noon and came home at 4. I had a list of 29 things to do at work and by the end of the day on Thursday, I was down to 4. I went grocery shopping in the evening by myself. Usually Hannah and I do it together during the day but with the Spring Break schedule she was napping so I did it alone.
This was also the day that an article about me came out in the Lawrence World Journal. A few weeks ago, I was caught by the Style Scout while walking through campus. I agreed to talk to him about my "fashion sense." I was amused because I think I have no style, but you can't tell the reporter that because then there is no story. My advisor saw the article and forwarded it to people so now I am having my 15 minutes of fashion fame at the university.

On Friday I went to work again at 10 a.m. I stayed until 2. One item left on my list. I was supposed to get a poster printed. I couldn't because it was Spring Break and everything was shut down.
On Saturday we had our first family picnic in the park of the season. Afterward, we bought mulch for the flower beds and then came home and Brian sprayed the weeds so we could put the mulch down later while Hannah and I made maple cookies with vanilla frosting for church. I also finished a project proposal I was working on. And that's how we do Spring Break at our house.
